Spring Term

...is the best term. So much fun, great classes that you actually find interesting, and did i mention lots of fun? Between tubing, derby days, buffalo creek, and other social events that scatter my very full calender it is hard for me to get my work done. HOWEVER since i have less class time during the day i am finally, in my fourth week, learning how to balance my time. For instance instead of heading out tonight i am holed up in my dorm room doing some work for my very interesting Women's Studies class, and blogging so that all of you who check my blog will have something interesting to read. I am especially looking forward to Buffalo Creek since i have heard amazing things about it. KD had our Spring Fling formal saturday night, it was lots of fun a lot of people came and it was held outside thankfully there was no rain! Good luck with APs!! until next timeee...

DOMINATION

So last week was CRAZY, it was Derby Days a week long inter sorority competition and quite possibly the best week of my existence thus far. Monday: Practice, Tuesday: Field Games, Wednesday: Cook off (which KD won!), and Thursday and Friday: Powderpuff Tournament. Friday Night were the Skits, which was the one event i could participate in, THANK YOU broken arm. Now KAPPA DELTA WON overall, therefore we are the best. This amazing week is hosted by Sigma Chi, they host all the day events and night time parties, it is so much fun, indescribable actually.
On a more serious note, my classes, i'm taking two, and they are so fun! Intro to women's studies is a great discussion class and in art in business i am learning SO much about the world of advertising and marketing. For a PE i'm taking Dance Conditioning which for now is a lot of me sitting out due to the arm but in THREE short weeks ill be out of the cast and back in action. Ill be able to tube, and hike, and DRIVE again. Im counting down the days.
Along with all this i'm trying to figure out my summer plans, not fun. I want to be a camp counselor but we will see how that goes.
Enjoy the end of your senior year, it really is a fun amazing time AND the last time (if your a boarding schooler like me) that you and all your friends will be together at the same time! Have fun and get excited for WandL!!!!!!

BEST WEEK EVVVVA

exam week is upon us, and seeing as it's 10: 39 (okay fine, almost 11) the night before our last final, it's obviously the ideal time to update, clearly i have nothing better to do.  as char char GASP broke her arm a few weeks ago, the flow of lexvegas news has been slow, to say the least...to start at the very beginning, charlotte has been in a full arm cast (sling included) for three weeks. it has been rough. washing hair and wearing clothes with buttons has been a challenge, but somehow (with the help of her stellar friends) she has made it through. dry shampoo has also been a big part of this success.

future generals out there, i know admissions has been feeding you all sorts of statistics and posed pictures about how fabulous our hallowed halls here at w&l are, but what they might have failed to tell you about is FREE COFFEE WEEK here. yes, that's right, twice a year our generous school supplies to the student body unlimited, free watered-down coffee. BEST WEEK EVER, i know. i have worked hard to perfect a winning combination of splenda, vanilla coffee-mate and hazelnut coffee-mate that makes our coffee somewhat palatable.  try it, now, so you too can relish the best over-caffeinated, over-worked procrastinating-spent days of yo lyfe!

room change

I have a tendency to stay out late. Whether i am at a party or just in the library till the wee hours of the morning doing homework i probably could have or should have done earlier. My roommate however does not. She's usually in bed, if not asleep, by 11 pm. This started causing issues this semester so i did the simple thing of changing rooms. Turns out a single was available on the fourth floor, and after talking to my RA and Dean Leonard i have been allowed to move into it for the short remainder of the school year. It has been fabulous and now i no longer have to be very quiet when coming home from a late night lib session at 2 am.
Other updates: Fancy Dress is this weekend, The Dark Night is the theme. I'm SO excited. The weekend should be pretty great and i have a fabulous dress to wear saturday, ive been at the gym trying to sculpt my bod for the occasion, not really. As a committee member i can tell you the decorations are fabulous and the party will be amazing. I will be sure to put up some pictures of the evening for you all to see.

The Johnson Scholars have arrived.

If you are Johnson Scholar WELCOME! It's so exciting having all of you here. If not i can tell you about it. Our Dhall is now packed with high school seniors, like yourself, who are getting a feel for the w and l experience. Their days are packed with activities and they all get to live with different students. ANYWHO right now I'm enjoying a late night snack with my two best friends Julia and Alli discussing our plans for the week, there are fun parties coming up both tomorrow and this weekend. Alli Plays lacrosse and is from Essex Fells, New Jersey, and Julia played Field Hockey for four days (quit during pre season) and is from Old Greenwich, CT. They are roommates and live down the hall from me! Blogging, by the way, has taken over the campus. A lot of people have started their own blogs, look out for them!
